Types of Imprint Methods

Which imprint processes are best for your promotional needs?

Embroidery

Screen Printing

Transfer

Direct to Garment

Embroidery

  • Your vector logo needs to be digitized (converted for needle & thread)
  • Up to 12 colours – no extra charge
  • Size of embroidery & thread count affect the price
  • Low minimums
  • Great quality reproduction of your logo on outerwear, golf shirts and caps

Screen Printing

  • Your vector logo inked onto the garment and then cured in an oven
  • The number of colours and the number of locations affect the printing price – each require a screen setup.
  • Screen Printing will last longer then the garment
  • Minimum Order: 24 units

Transfer

  • Your vector logo is printed onto a vinyl decal and heat pressed onto the garment
  • Great printing process for 4-colour images
  • Minimum Order: 12

Direct to Garment

  • Direct to Garment (DTG) is a method where a printer directly applies the ink onto the t-shirt with inkjet technology.
It involves a special printer, which prints the ink directly onto the garment in the desired design.
DTG uses specialty inks, which are absorbed by the fibers of the garment.
  • It’s like photocopying your logo onto the garment instead of paper
  • Colour is a bit faded – not crisp
  • Great printing process for small quantities printed in full colour
  • Minimum Order: 12

Debossing / Embossing

Pad Printing

Laser Etching

Hot Stamping

Debossing / Embossing

  • Your logo is die-struck into a 3D metal plate and pressed into the material in the same 3D image
  • Tone-on-Tone
  • Best printing process for leather garments
  • Minimum Order: 6

Pad Printing

  • A unique printing process using flexible silicone rubber pads to transfer an inked image from an etched plate, onto the surface of a product.
  • This process allows for printing on odd shaped products.
  • Pad Printing is used on most items in the Swag-Industry like pens, water bottles, key tags.

Laser Etching

  • Your logo is burnt into the product – laser beam heat into wood, fabric metal or glass.

Hot Stamping

  • Your logo is pressed onto the product using coloured foil & heat.
  • There are colour & imaging limitations.
  • Mostly used on vinyl and plastic products.
